BAR82 REVIEW

This cocktail lounge has outdoor seating both at the front overlooking the water in front of Princes Quay and my favourite place to sit, at the back of the bar which has a fantastic vibe and is heated in the colder months. I was blown away by the quality of the cocktails and the service. What’s unique about Bar82, is the level of sophistication that many other bars in the city centre just do not have. Alongside their premium cocktails, they offer bottomless brunch, bottomless Sunday lunch and tipsy tea; their boozy version of an afternoon tea.

Anyone who knows me recognises my love for the humble espresso martini, so it will be of no surprise that when Bar82 advertised their new white espresso martini, it had to be mine! This is a bit of a mind blowing cocktail not only for taste, but presentation. We asked the waiter how a white espresso martini is possible, but of course such trade secrets are sworn to secrecy! Indulgent, delicious and well executed with a nice touch from the Malteasers garnish. This was of course ordered again on my second visit only a week later.

Other cocktails consumed between the 4 of us on our visit included Truffles on the Rocks, made with homemade vanilla and marmalade syrup, a Rafffles recipe Singapore Sling, a Pink Panther, a French Martini and many more!

The bartenders were very accommodating and happy to take requests for drinks not on the menu when my dad fancied a White Russian. Bar82 oozes style and sophistication. The staff are very knowledgeable about the cocktails and are so welcoming and friendly. If you fancy drinks somewhere a bit more boutique-y then Bar82 is for you - I highly recommend you visit.
