AL TAGLIO REVIEW
BY LEANNE O’BRIEN
When 2 of my favourite things are combined: pizza and Humber Street! Humber Street is full of fantastic places to eat and drink but until now, it has been missing a street food style venue to grab & go and Al Taglio fills that gap perfectly with its Artisan pizza by the slice.
Al Taglio ferment their dough for 72 hours to create a lighter, bubbly, crisp dough that’s easier to digest. All of the ingredients are also authentic and are imported from Italy.
The inside of the shop is modern and minimalist. There was plenty of pizza choice on the counter which looked fresh and delicious. There were also cannolis too which I can confirm are great! They also serve their pasta and arancini. I chose 4 slices: nduja and gorgonzola, ragu and parmesan, pepperoni and roasted vegetable. Joss got the same as me but margherita instead of roast veg.
Vegan options were also on offer too. We also chose a San Benedetto Italian lemon iced tea each to drink. The pizza was awesome as always! Our favourite was the ragu and parmesan followed by nduja and Gorgonzola which were rich and flavoursome.
The dough is also fantastic, light and airy. 4 slices each was a big portion and I probably would have been full having 2, however who only eats 2 slices of pizza? Especially when it’s this good! The iced teas were also super delicious, even better that they are an Italian brand. A wonderful addition to Humber Street and will be making many repeat visits I’m sure. Get yourselves down guys and show them some love!
