TREEHOUSE REVIEW
BY LEANNE O’BRIEN
Treehouse is the perfect place to drink, dine, dance and socialise. It has a reputation for being one of the most instagramable venues in Hull, due to its pink theme, neon signs, cherry blossom trees, floral walls and a selfie swing in the ladies room. Plenty of opportunities to snap a pic for the ‘gram!
It was hard to pick what to eat as the menu all sounds great, but I finally chose the offer of 4 tapas dishes for £18 which comes with fries, whilst Joss chose crispy chicken and chips in a basket with slaw and a side of garlic bread. We also both decided to switch out skin on fries for sweet potato fries. The verdict? The food was great!
Joss’ chicken was crispy, juicy and tasty and we agreed that the sweet potato fries were great and I thought the slaw was creamy and fresh. I loved my tapas; I chose satay crispy chicken which was delicious! It was even crispier than Joss’ chicken and the sauce was so moreish.
Next up was the garlic mushrooms which were very creamy but could have done with an extra kick for more flavour. The halloumi croquettes with sweet chilli were fantastic and you get a huge portion! The prawns were also good but would have been even better hot. The portion sizes of the tapas are very generous and well worth the money. £18 is a bargain! We really enjoyed our food and were gutted we couldn’t fit in dessert (all the more reason to return!)
The waitress who served us was also absolutely fantastic, fab service, very attentive, bubbly and friendly so shout out to her! (I think her name was Tiggy?) the only downside is the wait. Understandably, they’re extremely busy, but the staff were transparent that it would be a very long wait (we waited an hour and later in the night some were told up to 2 hours). Just be prepared when you go - it’s worth the wait!
